Astrid

Astrid
Friesian Appaloosa Cross Mare
15.2 hh
7 yrs old
Her Dam is Registered Appaloosa - Splash of Tardee

Always dreamed of having owning a Friesian,  well now you can!
She as three gorgeous floaty gaits and would excel in many careers.
She is one of the most intelligent horses, learns very quickly, and loves interacting with humans
She is always the first to come up to you in the pasture and I always hoping its her turn.
She can be ridden Western or English.
She is still green, so we would
recommend her for an intermediate and above rider.
She can still be a little jumpy about things, not the spook and bolt kind, but she will stop suddenly if surprised by something
She would do best with one owner who she can bond with and learn to trust as confidence building is a huge thing for her.
We think over time and training with one person she has a ton of potential

We do not recommend her as a trail horse at this point, due to this.
We think she would make a fantastic Dressage horse, Western and English pleasure horse.
We also think she would love to learn tricks and be trick and liberty trained.

She is great for the vet, farrier, and for worming.
She has always been sound with us, has no medical issues, and requires no supplements or maintenance.

She will crib if left in a stall, but this is managed with a cribbing collar or 24/7 turnout.
We recommend she is on pasture board as she has been with us 24/7 and does not seek out things to crib on.
I think she gets bored in a stall and cribbed because she needed something to do.
She has never reared, kicked, bucked, bolted, bitten, or done anything remotely mean to us.
When she came to us she needed trailer loading training and this relates to lack of condidence issues
We have worked with her and she will now load perfectly for us, but this is something she needs to practice regularly to maintain.
Stands tied well in cross ties or straight tied and has never even threatened to pull back or miss behave
She is currently out with mares, geldings, and ponies and she is on the lower end of the pack but doesn't get beaten up.
She is an easy keeper and does well on grass hay and 10 lbs of grain per day.

She is up to date on vaccines, Coggins, farrier, teeth floating, and de-worming.
